Connect Claude to a DynamicWeb 10 solution through the MCP server

Use this guide to connect Claude to your DynamicWeb solution through the DynamicWeb MCP Server using OAuth.

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop supports remote MCP servers with OAuth authentication through the Connectors settings.

1. Add the MCP connector in Claude

  1. Open Claude Desktop and go to Settings > Connectors
  2. Click Add custom connector
  3. Enter a name, for example DynamicWeb
  4. Enter the MCP endpoint URL: https://<your-dw-instance>/Admin/mcp
  5. Save the connector
  6. Find connector and click on Connect

Claude will initiate the OAuth flow, redirect you to your DynamicWeb login page, and ask you to authorize access. Once authorized, a Claude MCP configuration is automatically created in DynamicWeb.

2. Configure tool permissions

Control which DynamicWeb tools Claude can access:

  1. In DynamicWeb, go to Settings > Developer > MCP Configurations and open the Claude configuration
  2. Setup the permission suitable for the setup.
  3. Save the configuration
  4. You might need to disconnect and connect again in Claude Desktop to expose the tools available.
