General
The General node contains advanced settings primarily related to indexing and search, completeness, and suggestions.
Indexes
The Indexes section is primarily used to select the Default index:

The default index is typically used when querying for products in the Products area, and can be set to be automatically rebuilt whenever a product is saved.
The Use default index for product selector search can be toggled to query the default index in product selectors. If not toggled, the database is queried directly - this is relevant because it contains no calculated fields.
Query free text search
The Query free text search section defines which fields to search when users conduct a free-text search inside a query under the Products-area. The fields available to you are the fields in the default products index selected above.

To use this feature:
- Select the fields to include in the query
- If relevant, check Use wildcard search to enable in-word string matches at the cost of performance
If no fields are selected, all standard fields are searched - if you want to search for values stored on custom fields these fields must be explicitly selected.
Group/All products free text search
The Group/All products free text search section defines which fields to search in when using the 'All Products' list and inside product groups. The fields available are all standard fields and custom fields in the database (but not index-fields and calculated fields).

To use this feature, select the fields you want to include when you search.
Completeness
The Completeness section has one setting:
- Don't apply uncompleted product to channel - used to ensure that products that are not 100% complete for a channel cannot be published to that channel.
Suggestions
The Suggestions section is used to select the queries used to generate suggestions in product selectors on a solution.

You can select up to three queries, each of which will present 3 products to the user when a product selector is shown (until they start searching for a product).
