The Field value conversion node is used to define how units of measurement is converted. You can create different Field conversion groups e.g. a Weight group to convert values to imperial units and SI units.

You can apply the field-value-conversion to all standard and custom decimal fields via the field settings.
To create a new field conversion group:
- Click New group
- Provide a Name and System name
- Choose whether to use Pre-defined units or User defined units:
- Pre-defined units - select one of the built-in unit catalogs (Weight, Length, or Volume), choose which of its units to include, then select which one should be the base unit
- User defined - continue directly to creating a field value conversion (see below), which is automatically set as the base unit
- Click Save and close
To create a new field value conversion (when using User defined units, or to add further units to a group):
- Open the field conversion group
- Click on New field value conversion
- Provide a Symbol, System name
- Define a Factor to decide the relation between the different units e.g. if base unit is 1 kilogram (kg), the factor of a field value conversion for pound (lb) would be 0,454 lbs
- Click Save and close
The first field value conversion created in a User defined group is automatically its base unit. To use a different base unit, edit the field conversion group itself and select another unit in its Base unit field - only units with a factor of 1 can be selected as the base unit.
Tip
You don't have to define units manually - when creating a field conversion group you can instead choose from DynamicWeb's built-in weight, length, and volume unit catalogs.
