An import configuration is a saved field mapping created when importing product data via the export/import-tool. Saving a configuration lets you reuse the same mapping later, or share it with other users on the solution instead of setting it up again from scratch.
To manage import configurations, navigate to Settings > System > Administration > Import configurations. The node has three views:
- My configurations - the configurations you have saved
- Shared - configurations that have been shared with other users on the solution
- All configurations - every configuration on the solution, regardless of owner or sharing; only available to administrators
Each view lists the following columns:
- Name - the name given to the configuration when it was saved
- Owner - the user who originally saved the configuration
- Permissions - the users or groups who have been given access, shown on the Shared and All configurations views
- Created
- Modified
Sharing a configuration
By default, a saved configuration is only stored in your personal area and only you can use it. To make it available to others:
- Open My configurations
- Select the configuration and use the action menu to click Move to shared
Once moved, the configuration appears under the Shared view, where its access can be managed.
Note
You can also configure a default storage location so new configurations are saved directly to the shared area instead of your personal area.
Managing access to a shared configuration
To control who can use a shared configuration:
- Open the Shared (or All configurations) view
- Select the configuration and use the item menu to click Permissions
- This opens the same permissions workspace used for files and folders, where you can assign access to users or groups
