Workflows
A workflow is a structured process for doing something, and within product information management this typically means guiding products through a product enrichment workflow consisting of a set of steps like:
- Newly created
- Ready for technical enrichment
- Ready for marketing
- Ready for translation
- Ready for publication
You can set this up in several ways:
- Creating workflows for moving products manually through these steps
- Using completion rules on queries to create a sort of automatic workflow where products move from one query to the next based in their completeness score
Which is the right approach depends largely on the preference and internal workings of the organization which will be using the workflows; how do they prefer to work?
