Use the SendGrid delivery provider when you want Dynamicweb to send email through your SendGrid account instead of the default Dynamicweb Send Provider.
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
- A SendGrid account with a valid API key
- Access to Settings > Areas > Marketing > Delivery Providers
Configure SendGrid delivery provider
- Go to Settings > Areas > Marketing > Delivery Providers
- Click Add and select SendGrid
- In API key, enter your SendGrid API key
- Select the Time zone used for provider event timestamps
- Set Time window in minutes to allow for timestamp differences between Dynamicweb and SendGrid
- Click Save
- Set the provider as default on a Campaign or on a specific email
Field reference
The following fields are available when configuring the SendGrid delivery provider:
- API key: Required for SendGrid API v3 and recommended for all new setups
- User name and Password: Legacy fields used only for deprecated SendGrid API v2
- Time zone: Time zone used when comparing event times
- Time window: Allowed drift in minutes between Dynamicweb and SendGrid timestamps
Notes
Keep the following in mind when configuring or using the SendGrid delivery provider:
- Time window cannot be 0 and defaults to 60 minutes when not set
- If no API key is provided, Dynamicweb falls back to legacy user name/password behavior
- For debugging, use Dynamicweb Save Provider to save messages to a folder instead of sending
